Our Winter Sports Club offers all-season ski jumping possibilities – only an hour away from Berlin in the region Märkisch-Oderland. But not only the unusual location for winter sports make Bad Freienwalde as a place that you’d surely love to visit! Five reasons why.
.
A unique place – experience ski jumping near Berlin!
It may be hard to believe, but Bad Freienwalde is a renowned destination for ski jumping! How is that possible in snow-scarce Brandenburg? Thanks to our modern ski jumping facilities – the northernmost in Germany – we provide year-round opportunities for training and prestigious competitions. This proud tradition dates back to the 1920s. In recognition of its winter sports activities, chroniclers once referred to Bad Freienwalde as the “St. Moritz of Mark Brandenburg.” And some still do!
.
We promoting talents!
Despite the unique winter sports conditions in Bad Freienwalde, the club as a member of the Federal Ski Union of Brandenburg offers top-tier facilities for Nordic skiing. In ski jumping and Nordic combined, our coach Stefan Wiedmann, awarded 2019 as the “Trainer of the Year in Nordic Combined” by the DSV, trains young talents at a professional level. Our junior athletes rank among the best in Germany and consistently achieve success in competitions across Europe.
.
German. Polish. Whatever. We live Europe!
.
Passionate commitment and a winter sport family for everyone!
Together, we create truly unique winter sports experiences. The success of WSV 1923 Bad Freienwalde is driven by the passionate dedication of its members and supporters. Everyone is encouraged to contribute their own ideas and energy, fostering a winter sports community that feels like family for all!
.
A perfect spot to enjoy outdoor activities!
So far, we’ve highlighted the unique winter sports facilities and rich traditions. But the charming spa town of Bad Freienwalde has much more to offer and is well worth a visit! Known for its medicinal springs, the town is an ideal destination for both relaxation and active holidays. Here, where the Oder River meets the hills of the Barnim ridge, it boasts the charm of an upland region. If you enjoy hiking or cycling, the area around Bad Freienwalde offers breathtaking natural landscapes, including vast forests waiting to be explored. Don’t miss out!

Hope to see you soon! “Brandenburg’s St. Moritz” is waiting for you!
