Welcome to the Winter Sports Club 1923 Bad Freienwalde! Here, just an hour north of Berlin in the region Märkisch-Oderland, we carry on a long ski jumping tradition. Get close to the action – and experience the various highlights on our hills!
Nordic skiing sport in Brandenburg
Bad Freienwalde is a home base for the whole range of the nordic ski sport. How is that even possible in the snow-poor Brandenburg? Our modern ski jumping facilities – the northernmost in Germany – offers all-season opportunities for training and prestigeous competions. As an alternative for cross-country skiing, we use roller skis or inline skates. Winter sports can be experienced with us for a long period: The tradition goes back to the 1920s. Chroniclers mentioned Bad Freienwalde as “St. Moritz of the Mark Brandenburg”.
Promote up-and-coming talents
Even with the unusual winter sport conditions in Bad Freienwalde, the club – as a member of the Federal Ski Union of Brandenburg – provides best conditions for nordic skiing sport. In ski jumping and nordic combined, our coach Stefan Wiedmann train young talents on a professional level. Our Juniors belong to the best athletes in Germany and successfully taking part at competions all over Europe. Since 2019, a bi-national team with young atheletes from Poland and Germany train together in Bad Freienwalde.
A great community for fans of winter sports
The WSV 1923 Bad Freienwalde offers a winter sports family for everyone. The frequent exchange with our ski jumping enthusiastic neighbors is part of the club’s DNA, so we always welcome guests from Poland and even other winter sports nations at our widely popular ski jumping hills. Whether as fans of sporting events or as an active non-professional athlete in cross-country skiing competitions and training weekends – every winter sports friend from northeast Germany will find a great community in Bad Freienwalde.
But see it for yourself! The “St. Moritz of the Mark Brandenburg” welcome you!
